To further implement the practical activities of “Serving the Masses”, stimulate staff’s enthusiasm for sports, advocate a healthy lifestyle, and promote the overall healthy development of staff, Yan Zhiwei of the fire brigade of the Safety and Environmental Protection Department, a former professional fitness instructor, carried out fitness training for staff on the afternoon of May 23. More than 20 people from the company’s administration and invoicing hall attended the training.
I. How to “Eat”?
As the saying goes, three points for exercise and seven points for eating. A balanced diet has a decisive role in the fitness effect. If you do not eat right, it will greatly impact the effectiveness of your fitness. In this training course, Coach Yan explained a series of theoretical knowledge from the principle of fat loss, the three major factors, energy consumption, and diet structure so that employees could understand the importance of diet and that adjusting the ratio of the three macro-nutrients to optimize the diet structure could bring better fitness results.
II. How to “Workout”?
Fat loss doesn’t equal weight loss. In addition to explaining theoretical knowledge, Coach Yan also instructed the correct use of fitness equipment in the gym on the company’s third floor, analyzing action essentials and precautions one by one from strength training, aerobic training, and special training. Employees present listened carefully and asked questions enthusiastically, while Coach Yan instructed and corrected the wrong actions one by one. The atmosphere was relaxing and lively.
Coach Yan proposed four kinds of special training for the physical state of our employees to improve their metabolic rate, promote fat burning, maintain muscle, and shape their bodies.
(1) Batwing arms: Strengthen triceps training such as prone arm flexion and self-weight arm flexion;
(2) Abdominal: Flank and its variations and crunch exercise;
(3) Shoulders and back: Lateral dumbbell raise, lats pull, seated row, etc.;
(4) Thighs: Wide squat.

Fitness is an attitude of life, and physical health is the primary goal of fitness. After two hours of study, participants all felt their muscles and bones stretching and full of energy.
